Over the albums, the music becomes better for this combo based in Nashville, Tennessee, led since 2009 by the powerful vocalist Don Ray. This third opus with Delbert McClinton reminiscences is invigorating, we also find again a tone getting closer of what the Scottish Frankie Miller made in the mid-seventies, some rockin’blues soul with some forays in the Southern Rock. Full Throttle counts ten tunes produced by Don Ray and the guitarist Will McFarlane, one of the Muscle Schoals pillars, where this washer was incidentally created, with additionaly a mastering build by the essential sound engineer Glen Meadows from Nashville and we can feel the touch of this « dreamteam » from the beginning by « This Is Our House » that has a hell of groove, and a bottleneck glissento that gives an Allman Bros touch, then the eponymous title « Full Throttle » is in the same vein. Then some tempered moments wedge in with « Daniels and Caine », « Suicide Girl » and « Road to Nashville ». The « big moment » arrives on « All Get Together », sharp Southern boogie with good slide strokes. The terminus is made by « The Clown », mid-tempo piece with light harmony guitar parts, that will delight you.
